We got an offer from Messe Sinsheim which is the organizer of the steam meeting
of larger exhibition area further to our last year´s premiere. But how reasonably
fill this place and properly promote our park railway? The answer was quick - our
new locomotive TU transport to Karlsruhe. Preparations for transport started as
early last year during the summer. Because transport this five hundred "manikin"
with lenght over three metres on the route seven hundred kilometres is relatively
difficult. The first question ran: "What does locomotive transport in?"
Fortunately Roman bought a new bigger company transport car. And lenght of the
freight space be just right for our locomotive. And the second question followed
immediately: "What use for loading, transport and unloadig?" So Jura had
think about this problem over a cigar and he came up with a special construction
with carriage and with one track field. This construction will use for loading,
transport and exhibition too.
Loading of the locomotive took place on Wednesday afternoon and it took over two
hours. We had to load locomotive at the first and then we had to fasten it in car
against damage. Reserve soft foams and filtres was suitable for us. Journey took
place without problems, unloading and transport to the stand too. We carried our
small steam locomotives Regner too because we pleased to ride with them during
slow winter time.

This year´s 19th Echtdampf Hallentreffen was concentrated into halls No. 3 (yard
5"/7" and locomobiles) and No. 4 (all remaining things) this time, which had an
influence on transport organization. Entrance into exhibition grounds was strictly
forbidden except for Thursday afternoon and Sunday early evening. A big guarded
car park next to exhibition grounds was reserved for exhibitors. Both big yards
were without changes compared to last year. Yard 5"/7" was placed along the walls,
yard 5" was placed inside and it was a bit more longer than last years. All circle
was running through hall three times there and three times back. The time of ride
was excellent.
Well all remaining things including our stand and IIm scale yard was placed in
hall No. 4. But exhibitors were a bit more less than last year, above all commercial
which have to pay for hired space. As for shopping material and tools for modellers
you can choose heart's content. So we went gradually to stands RC Machines, Wabeco,
Donau Elektronik, Knupfer, MVD and the others. Various measuring instruments, milling
tools, modelling screws and profiles are suits always. And some professional literature
time to time - apropos Eisenbahn Jornal published next publication about RhB last
year.

Our rolling-stock didn´t considerably change from our last visit in Karlsruhe.
Family Duda and Uhlir absented due to workload so German visitors could see our
following locomotives - steam tram Henriette, lumberjack locomotives Climax
and Shay, steam passenger car Triebwagen, steam locomotives U 37.002, 99 4701,
Emma, Petrov a RhB 11.
The yard was arranged by another way, primarily shape itself has gone through
numerous changes and terminal stations were place somewhere else. Our club was
assigned three tracks at the terminal station A.

Steam engines operation require on the module yard relatively considerable
attention and concentration. Particuraly during water refueling on the line you
must pay attention for other passing models. Most of modellers use unforced breaks,
when another model stop before him. A man have to watch operation behind him. Many
modellers set model in motion very fast and the you cannot break. An accident is
in the world. One of participating modeller derailed my three passenger cars and
he braked my new stuck figures on the boarding platform.

Our fan Jeff Tomecek from Maryland came to see us this year. Jeff is owner several
models from Aster company. Strict rules of the airlines didn´t allow to him bring
some of his models. So he tried one of our Regner locomotive at least:

Our English friends Elizabeth and Graham cooling bring a new model of the four-axle
locomotive British Rail class 20 No. 20 165. I didn´t resist of Graham offer to
try it as engine driver. The ride at the long 5" yard was excellent:

And we accepted Hansueli Gassmann alia Yeti invitation for his steam beer with
plesure. Hansueli had girl friend from Tisnov and he picked up a lot of Czech words.
His Czech "Hi, how are you? Do you like beer? Why not, it´s very good. And then?"
sounded between omnipresent German language really magnificently. So we would like
repay his hospitality at some following Steam Olympia.
